What
We Do
How We Began
The
four "founders" of Gifts for Conservation, Inc. (see Who
We Are for our individual bios) share a strong commitment to preserving
the natural environment including wild lands, natural areas
and local wildlife refuges. We are interested in efforts to protect and restore
ecosystems, and we have all worked to promote thriving populations of
wildlife. Our collective background includes a variety of careers. We
have been educators, classroom teachers, executives, authors, scientists
and board members of various organizations. We began discussing ways
in which we could join with others in the spirit of community and social
responsibility. Gift giving seemed a good place to start.
